Galenic
"Galenic" indicates the pharmacy skill of preparing recipes based on pharmaceutical knowledge, including herbal knowledge, from plant ingredients in a way that optimizes the absorption of active substances. The name comes from Claudius Galen, a Greek physician living in the 2nd century AD, who optimized recipes for the absorption of active substances. The galenic nature of Alba®1913 cosmetics is a guarantee of their effectiveness, due to their roots in the herbal tradition, apothecary's precision in the selection of ingredients, and concern for the pharmaceutical quality of production.
Bioretinol
We used a plant alternative to bioretinol - Bidens Pilosa plant extract, in cosmetics for advanced care: a mask and a night oil. Bioretinol, like retinol, has a firming and calming effect on the skin, but it is obtained from plants and tested for properties similar to retinol. The beneficial effects of Bidens pilosa extract also include fighting free radicals and supporting skin cell reconstruction. If you are looking for a plant-based alternative to retinol serum, reach for our night rescue oil. If you prefer something highly nourishing and skin-regenerating with bioretinol, the Galenic mask will be the perfect choice.

Peelings
Exfoliation of the epidermis promotes the absorption of beneficial substances from the cream, mask and serum, which means it helps to fully benefit from the effects of cosmetics used after exfoliation. If you value quick and spectacular effects, choose mechanical peeling with amber dust. If you prefer enzyme peels that act like a mask, i.e. a slow beauty solution, try our papain peel. An even, healthy color is not the only advantage of using facial peels. The use of peels also increases skin hydration and makes pores less visible.
Serum
We have collected our highly effective facial cosmetics with a high content of active substances in the serum category. The city day serum with hyaluronic acid is most often called a facial concentrate, and the night oil serum with plant retinol is called a night oil. What they have in common is the light, liquid or semi-liquid consistency typical of serums and a huge wealth of natural ingredients. A characteristic feature of the serum is high concentrations of active substances, thanks to which the effect of the cosmetic is visible extremely quickly!

Water Free
For us, being eco-friendly means packaging, raw materials, water consumption, deforestation and CO2 emissions. Some Alba®1913 recipes do not contain water. Water resources and the environmental costs of transporting it from place to place are increasingly raised in discussions about the future of the planet. Some types of cosmetics require the addition of water, but many of our skin's needs can be met with more traditional products, e.g. facial oil, body butter, or our massage candles. Reach for #waterfree or #waterless recipes whenever possible!
Vegan
It is worth remembering that the words vegan and natural are not synonyms. Sometimes natural cosmetics contain ingredients of animal origin or beeswax, which is unacceptable to vegans. All Alba®1913 cosmetics and essential oils from 2021 are both natural and vegan. In Poland, the Viva! Foundation gave our products a vegan certificate. We renew vegan certificates every year to assure customers that the composition has not changed, i.e. the product is still vegan.
